Ralston Announces Art Contest to Recycle Paper from Arena Square into Sculpture for City

There is a unique art project underway to renovate the “Door to Ralston.” The city’s arts and creative district wants to recycle paper from the Ralston Arena plaza. Artists have the opportunity to use those letters to create a sculpture that will replace the current sign at the corner of 72nd and Main streets. “We hope it will help bring attention to our community’s goal of being a metro destination to experience arts and culture while enjoying our small-town charm in a city atmosphere,” said Chloe Hamel, Ralston Arts and Fellow creative board of the district. Liberty First Credit Union was announced as the new naming sponsor for the arena in December 2021. The winning artist will receive $3,000. Interested artists can learn more here.
