ATLANTA, August 26, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — This week, executives from Peach State Health Plan and Medical College of Georgia IN Augusta The university announced the 2022 Peach State Scholars during a ceremony in Augusta University campus. The seven students make up the second class of Peach State Scholars participating in the Medical College of Georgia MCG3+ Primary Care Pathway Programme.

The program, which began in 2020, allows select students to graduate from medical school in three rather than four years and go directly into a primary care residency in Georgia. In exchange for their commitment to serve in a rural or underserved area of ​​the state, these students will receive a tuition scholarship, which was made possible by a 5.2 million dollars donation from the Peach State Health Plan in 2021.
