Both Riverton AND Lander Libraries holding book events today! Check them out if you haven’t already. Use books, DVDs, CDs, LPs and more to dig through. Riverton’s Book Sale runs from 11am to 5pm in the Mezzanine, and Lander’s Book Nook (donations greatly appreciated) runs from 12-4pm in the lower level of the Carnegie Building.
Don’t miss the last one Sugarbeats Summer Concert series starting at 6pm tonight at Riverton’s City Park! of Lander Bake Shop celebrates the completion of “Power, Life and Healing” mural. painted by Colleen Friday, Talissa Abeyta and Adrienne Vetter. Gather at 5:30pm for drumming and dancing, free pulled pork sandwiches from Chingy’s Smoke & Grub and snow cones from G&J Piccadilly! The mural project was coordinated by The Bossert Collective; there will be a reception and dedication at 6:30 pm with guest speakers Jordan Dresser and Drs. Amanda LeClair.
Lander Cycling Club Jurassic Classic Bike Mountain Bike Festival it’s been a huge hit so far this week with group rides, clinics, demos, a fair… everything you can imagine for the biker and avid mountain enthusiast! Tickets for the Friday and Saturday events are available; tonight is Teton Gravity Research’s Esperanto movie premiere and Saturday, it’s all about Shenanigans in the Park with local art vendors, raffles, face painting, bike races for kids and adults, food, beer and …more live music! Fremont County’s Swing While dancing The club is putting one Swing Dance at the Church of the Rock, 150 Baldwin Creek Road in Lander. These swinging sessions start at 6pm, but you can show up early and there will be a few people around to teach you some basic moves. Get $5 and get your dancing shoes on!
It’s the last one Dubois’ Friday Night Rodeo so better catch it tonight before the dust settles and you all have to wait until next year! Bring money; pay at the gate. Admission $15, Children 6-12 $10, 5 and under are free.

Love a good scavenger hunt? Register for Great South Pass City History Hunt at South Pass City State Historic Site. Win prizes along the way and, at the same time, a great way to learn about the history of the area! Teams 1-10 can start at 10:00am with the latest start time at 2:00pm.
