1. Taylor Swift
Throughout the year 2022, Taylor Swift is said to have accumulated more than 8,293 tons of carbon emissions. This is due to 170 flights in her private jet, which account for 22,923 minutes of flight time. Its average time in the air was 80 minutes, although its shortest was only 36 minutes. Taylor’s position as the top celebrity carbon emitter may come as a surprise, considering Taylor isn’t even on tour, but her rep says it has to do with other people using her plane.
“Taylor’s aircraft is regularly loaned out to other individuals. To attribute most or all of these trips to her is completely inaccurate,” Taylor’s rep said in a statement.
2. Floyd Mayweather
Professional boxer Floyd Mayweather is credited with creating 7,076.8 tons of CO2 over the course of the 177 private jet flights he took this year — the most of any celebrity on this list. His private jet history also includes the shortest flight on this list, thanks to a trip to Las Vegas that lasted just 10 minutes.
